Water Fight!

Every morning started out the same:  Claire and Connor outside in their p.j.'s- playing in the water, then in their underwear, then their swimming suits, then naked.  Rinse and repeat...

And there were a couple water fights too.  Mostly started by Emily.

Sweet Action Ice Cream

We got us some Sweet Action while in Denver.  It is a great little ice cream shop in downtown Denver.

Ryan picked the best flavor EVER... Fluffer Nutter.  Marshmallow and peanut butter.  Trust me, it was YUM-O!

Aurora Reservoir

Aurora Reservoir is the perfect spot to roast marshmallows, chase ducks and play Bocce Ball on the beach.

This was Haley's favorite place on our Denver vacation.

Denver

The kids and I got to stay with my sister Emily and her family for three weeks. We had the best time and the weather was perfect.

Haley and Ryan both made amazing new friends.  Claire and Conner
got to play together from sun up to sun down everyday.

We saw and did just about everything there was to do.

Tonsils, Potty Training and Light Bulbs

Claire has been potty training this summer... it has been comical to say the least. Goggles are the ONLY thing she wears except for the underwear, which has been worn on her head several times.

Haley had her tonsils taken out this summer. She must have been on some pretty strong medication, because when we brought her home she said she was feeling good and wanted a cheese burger! Instead we gave her a slush. She threw up twice later that night. (Your welcome.)

Claire loves to run up and down the back balcony. She spends a lot of time out there. After being very quiet for a very long time she came in the house and handed Chris a light bulb from a strand of VERY FRAGILE lights.  When Chris asked her where it came from she took him out to the balcony to show him how she unscrewed 65 lights and gently placed them in a pile. Amazingly, she did not break any of them.

Camping

For the 4th of July weekend we went camping.

On our way up to the property, we stopped by the Ranch to see some of Chris' family.

After a flood, the Ranch house had a brand new kitchen. When we walked into the house we where hit by the most horrible smell.... The smell of something dead and hot!

The oven had been moved into the garage during the remodel and then brought back in afterwards. During it's stay in the garage it became the home of some mice. Long-story-short. They where dead and hot... Chris' Mom had been baking potatoes in the oven and the entire house oozed with the stench!

The camp trailer was looking like a great place to be, so we headed up the mountain. The property was beautiful, except for one thing... THE SMELL.

Two cows had gotten locked in somewhere they shouldn't have and died. No one should have to smell this twice in one day!

The next day Chris took Claire and Ryan fishing. They both caught a few. Before sending them back to the river, Claire would give the fish a little kiss.

Mom's Potting Shed

My Mom has always been a green thumb... She has the potting shed to prove it too! Just look at it- a thing of beauty! You can imagine what her flowers look like if this is just the place to store the tools!

Ryan's Baptism

Along with turning eight comes Ryan's baptism. It was great. We had a lot of family and friends come for the big day. Twenty-one kids where baptized on June 5th. The church was packed with people.

Ryan had a great experience and enjoyed every minute of the day.

He did say the best part was getting the money/candy lei that he had been looking forward to for about a year.

He is such a good kid and we loving having him in our family!

Stroller Make-Over

Claire sat in her baby stroller the other day and it ripped right off the frame. For some strange reason I thought I would attempt to sew a new cover for it... I don't sow. The good news is: from a distance it looks pretty good and it holds Claire's babies, so mission accomplished.

8

My favorite boy in the whole wide world is turning eight. We had the best time throwing him a Mad Scientist Party. It was icky, sticky and gross... perfect for 13 boys!

We made long blue worm-like goo, insta-snow, glow-in-the-dark jelly that we put into tubes to make glow sticks, and multi-colored slime. Followed by Diet Coke/ Mentos fountain finale. It was by far the best birthday party we done.

You are the greatest kid. I love every second that I get to spend with you.

Happy Birthday Mom and Clint

We celebrated my Mom's birthday and my Brother's birthday last weekend. It was so much fun playing with the Okerlund cousins. Because there where so many of us, we celebrated @ Chuck-a-Rama... Claire calls it "Chuck-a-Grandma."

Recycled Layers of the Earth Project

Haley's Layers of the Earth project was so much fun. She wanted it all be made out f recycled material (except for the foam form.) The outside was made with blue tissue paper and paper bags. The inside core was made out an old tape measure, plastic bags (colored red, ironed- and melted together), a bouncy bag that was no longer played with (it would light up when it is hit)

She worked really hard and did a great job- her teacher wanted to keep it.... so we took a few pictures to remember when it's Ryan's turn.

13!

I can't believe you are thirteen! I love you and I love being your Mom!

Happy Birthday Haley!

For Haley's Birthday we had a Spy Party - She and some friend's had to track down a couple of no good jewelry thieves. It was a great party!

Candy Leis

My nephew got baptized awhile ago and was given a candy and money lei. So when my mom told me she needed a gift for a baptism- I came up with my own version.
It wasn't to hard to to, but it would have been easier with a second person.
